what is important --reminder

Mayonnaise Jar & Two Beers...

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 Beers.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full.

They agreed that it was..

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar He shook the jar lightly.

The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full.

They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.

Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked once more if the jar was full.

The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand.

The students laughed..

'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things---your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.

The sand is everything else---the small stuff...

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.

  The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

 Spend time with your children.

  Spend time with your parents.

Visit with grandparents.

Take time to get medical checkups.

Take your spouse out to dinner.

Play another 18.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter.

 Set your priorities.

  The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented.

The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.'

The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.

Please share this with someone you care about.
I JUST DID!

LIFE ISN'T ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORM TO PASS...

...IT'S LEARNING HOW TO DANCE IN THE RAIN !

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 Beers.

from needs to greeds...

Just you and me can always find excuses and made up greed -- that is not what this planet needs.  WE can create the cradle of Truth, the Wisdom seen  in every disguise.  Enough hearts have become stilled to beat no more in failing wars and yet we carry on as though that was a curious story --"... yeah, I know one!   About some innocent  people murdered in the belief that their belief held no room to speak.   Some other people they were and long ago that was.  Everything is different now.  That couldn't happen again."     And the intelligent boy went off with his books, his head held far too high; so much so that he didn't see the soldiers when they came for him.

Between you and I, there is no reason for such a WHY.   How did anyone come to believe that dying children in heart rending cries with death before their  eyes....believe that account to be only some desert storyteller's  twilight confessions ?    Blending with night rising sighs, pulling the scarf of their bidden,  maneuvered disguise providing safe navigation through recast  rules with human beings too far apart, as they whittled away Truth and settling for a lie--just to buy a little more time,  another night moon shining in one another's eyes.

Love and an Unwillingness to surrender to the wrongful judgment of fixed hate will tear down walls meant to keep people and ideas apart, build temples of LOVE, send earthlings on flights to other worlds, and carry our card, our pledge to Innocence (regardless of the cost to ourself...FEAR does not live here).

What men may do to my body is not of real importance to a Seeker of Truth and Justice.   As Gandhi said, "...they may take away my home, my business, my family but they cannot have my obedience -- only my cold dead body."

As you judge so will you be judged.

It's already been said...

We are all so unexceptional human beings.   We think we've created the "top of the most."    Spend some time there and you find  that  to believe  what you were taught was riddled with holes where truth should be, shreds and tears where love could be.   Nobody wants to start over again; but that is what you have to do when you have come to an undeniable end.  Your innermost thoughts must be refined over and over again, as you are on a Journey that has no map.

Neither let your self be so foolishly defined by the accords of your passing time.  Open your mind and let the truth shine.  We dance around fires of ages and riches wherein we get caught.   I know it's hard to look at anything that doesn't wear or  share your Icon as though that were the depth of the well that mattered.    Alarmingly revealed:   "It's already been said, done or thought."

Michael Jackson's passing laid that again realization before me.  He was intensively creative, generous, caring and talented.  Whatever anyone's judgment is on his character, his gifts in the arts, his open hearted philanthropy ---  they are become as dark as the passage of the darkest night.   He was "accused."  After many weeks in a court room, before a judge, attorneys, an audience of the interested, he was declared INNOCENT of all charges made against him.   Therein the media is badgered and badgering of all who will hear.  "...the evil men do live on after they are gone, "  while the good they did is somewhere  else hid.    In all of Shakespeare's lore is this particle of sand; just as all that a person may do to benefit their time, the wealth of WHO they were  will be summed up by the connection of their footprints left in a trace of mud.  Doesn't matter that the birth of Truth was still born when the hush hush was washed away.

Human beings do not seem to be able to function without judgment upon the lesser blessed, the frown dressed face betrays all disgrace.  Bias  bred and ugly fed, the state of anybody goes down with a little more and more agreeing the same named game, the majority's hot toddy...while our values and traditions are chased away by  heated desert winds and coarse swirling sand,  searching without rest,  in our futile exercise to understand.

Lifestyles are never going to be the same, not as they were or were expected to ever be.   Gone, all gone. Surely there's a musical chord that allows for all that.  Beyond our lives, all of our tries, we must not forget how little it once took to bring happiness to dance and boogie smiles to far flung faces ... gathering the many unknown to come and commune with their own.    To tiny bodies not fed, look and  become the ONE, moving as such across a glistening sky, mirrored in the dust of  some long lost Dune.   Remember to be quiet, quiet as the moon,  so you will hear the voices penetrate eons past, singing too.

Holding onto the common just to blend in, is a dangerous game sure to find a desperate end.  Regardless of how old you grow, strip the flesh and break the bones --- that have grown to your fixed  and tired Soul.  Let them break and return to the Universal Just -- as we all must.  But don't delay until unable to hold flesh and bone upright, they will become porous and crystallized and fall to darkness instead of  Light.  Become the ONE whose sails are always unfurled and ready to go, to peek into new adventures of the S
pirit that never grows too old.   Keep your heart in the Peace of Harmony, unwilling to fall to anxious betrayals that are meant to cut and bleed...obscuring the Higher need to witness the wealth of goodness in Humanity.

Neither let your Self become undone as we crisscross drought pained land, flooded by rains, homes and businesses slide away and the wind itself a mighty roar, lashes all in its blind might.  Be as you are, where you are -- and don't be afraid to just dangle awhile on a newly minted Star.  There's no way to be lost....somewhere there is The Chamber of Justice, whose foundation is not condemnation. Rather like a newly born baby, adjusting to the Light; the contents are worth unimagined intangibles.

An old adage:  Live today as though you were dying tomorrow, Die to the old and wasteful  riddles, Make your own rules -- so long as they do not conflict with the needs and rights of others, you were given a place on this beautiful and rich Earth;  and from this Land of Grace, flood the darkness of your fear and flight, with the Goodness and Comfort found nestling within a darkness undiluted by obstacles and pretentions confusing the pure starlight.  If what you seek is not already within you, you will not find it in the "out here."

Talking about Fall Foliage In Bloomington IL

Takes your breath away, doesn't it.  While I live in a climate more hospitable to the confines of my health 's design;  I yet know that such Beauty exists and may be experienced first hand -- right here in the USA -- I truly long to have that experience more kinesthetically.  Thanks all for the pictures, with the summer now upon us (we in Southern Calif., cannot deny that the moods of the desert are sometimes more a  test of our physical body, our mental thinking  and/or our emotional roller coaster of  shifts, DAILY!  That pleasure is the true wealth of value, of consistency -- of all that I am, all I am able to give and all that I may receive).    SO.   Do what feels good.  Life is not known to be a forever status, whether that be Prosperity, compatibility with those we long to be with  growing deeper as we grow older.   RELAX.    Whether it's making more lemonade, showing your children  and exposing their sense of delightful discovery  with what you know to share with them; and, what is NEW for all members of your tribe...-- these are the really true highlights for you all.  We are ever seeking, ever searching...for that which is  referred to as "the awakening of our Inner Perception,"  "coming to unveil  the hidden" ------ wealth of gifts that WE ALL HAVE and  nourish your Gift for the betterment  of, not only YOUR LIFE, but like a ricocheting bullet, bursting with awe;  finding someway to rebirth your own life everyday.

Let us all dwell on that which is positive, that which requires a leap of Faith, that which we discovered with our Imagination.  Pictures lost in boxes or baskets, dusty albums stored on a shelf just outside our reach --  all the while certain that  our essence is continually  affirmed  to that  which is our perfected Healing Mind; and, having found our magical Rainbow hovering over our cascading Pilgrimage -- we begin again...to turn the pages of our LIFE BOOK. Sharing with others, we are able, at last, to smile and laugh, to grieve over mistakes, to forgive ourselves and surrender the death of the Past.  We are here Now, tomorrow is a Hope we are striving to breathe life into. (often one of  those that create more validity to the status and stains of our what remains)

Grab the Love of your Life,  where release may be found; savor the flavor, hear the sounds, and sense the promised relief that would one day, step out of out of the game of "Hide and Seek" ...and find the Healing,  delivered by the touch carried in his white willowy garment to ultimately know the Love you carry inside you and can know its sweetness  never again to be denied you.  Disguises are the undeniable best of characters met on our way to the Vision Quests of our Everyday.  Be careful of whom you judge -- it might just be you as you make your way through an orange scented garden drifting on a sand island somewhere above and lingering...waiting for us to let go and join the peace and complex happiness (we seem to fight as we analyze) of the plight of any moment, the disappearing fragility of a single heartbeat, the nexus of the always relied upon breath.  We just expect.  It's not going away from us -- maybe from some dissipating shadows but never from us.  We are mortal from the beginning to the end and whose to say what is going to step in and draw oxygen from the flame that within us has always been; or, silent the missed thoughtful part -- so quiet and tender our drum churning heart.

Taken by the storms of our today, there is still a courtyard, calm, cool, flush with greenery, and all kinds of birds find a spirit of rebirth on their way.  Waters stream over welcoming stones, and we are, for all our losses, at last...at long, long last...there is home.

Fall Foliage In Bloomington IL
Pat had said that she wanted to see some of foliage I mentioned in one of my postings. So, this is for you, Pat. I am sure it doesn't compare to what folks up in the W. VA  mountains see, but these pictures are typical of the street scenes all around Bloomington-Normal. Talk about a great place to live! I read about ideal cities for Late Lifers and most of them are in warm weather states. What they can't give one is the seasons.

Also, I have loaded up a photo of our condo. We are on the third floor and look down over a small lake.
